I love clover leaves, so I thought I'd come up with an edging using lots of them. I especially like the twist below the clover leaf on this one. It's something new and different.
Instructions:
| ds | double stitch | R | ring |
| p | picot | sp | small picot |
| lp | long picot | j | join |
| Ch | Chain |
R: (4ds p) 3 times 4ds close, turn work
*Ch: 3ds p (2ds p) 10 times 3ds, turn work
Tall Clover Leaf
R(a): 4ds p 4ds j to center p of first ring 4ds p 4ds close
R(b): leave 1/4" of thread, 3ds j to last p of previous r (3ds p) 2 times 3ds close
R: 3ds j to last p of previous r (2ds p) 2 times 2ds lp (2ds p) 3 times 3ds close
R: 3ds j to last p of previous r (3ds p) 2 times 3ds close
Pull a loop of the working thread through space between ring(a), ring(b), and the 1/4" of thread. Pass shuttle through loop
R(b): leave 1/4" of thread, 4ds j to last p of previous r (4ds p) 2 times 4ds close, turn work
Ch: 3ds j to last p of previous ch (2ds p) 10 times 3ds, turn work
Short Clover Leaf
R: 4ds p 4ds j to center p of previous r 4ds p 4ds close
R: 4ds j to last p of previous r 3ds p 3ds lp (3ds p) 2 times 4ds close
R: 4ds j to last p of previous r (4ds p) 2 times 4ds close, turn work*
Repeat from * to * until the edging is as long as you wish.
